Committees

AHDI committees are standing, recurring decision-making bodies assigned to key policy and program areas essential to association operations. Leadership is appointed by the AHDI president, with some exceptions. Primary objective: Oversight.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee identifies candidates for vacancies occurring on the Board of Directors and oversees the nomination, review, and ballot approval process.

Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee receives complaints, initiates proceedings, conducts investigations, holds hearings, makes recommendations to the National Leadership Board concerning instances of possible member misconduct, and oversees appropriate sanctions in such instances.

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee reviews and updates awards criteria and administers the AHDI Integrity Awards program.

Bylaws Committee

The Bylaws Committee reviews and updates the association model bylaws and reports activities and recommendations for changes or additions to the National Leadership Board.

Approval Committee for Certificate Programs

The Approval Committee for Certificate Programs (ACCP) identifies healthcare documentation and medical transcription training programs that comply with the AHDI Model Curriculum for Healthcare Documentation, maintain sound educational programming, produce competent entry-level healthcare documentation specialists, and provide assurance of consistency and quality outcomes for healthcare documentation education. The committee meets quarterly to review applications and render a vote on programs.

How can I participate in a committee?

Committee positions are vacated and filled in August each year. During the year, members can be added to the committee depending on vacancy. If you wish to work on an AHDI committee now or in the future, please contact us at ahdi@ahdionline.org and an AHDI leader or staff liaison will follow up with you.
